Our History
September 1883
James A. Decker and Armstrong Taylor established and incorporated the Bank of Baldwin in a thriving community of farmers and lumbermen.
October 1911
A national charter request was granted and with that came a new name – The First National Bank of Baldwin.
February 1997
The first branch office was opened in Nilssen’s Foods in Baldwin, WI.
Mid 2003
A new, simplified name: First Bank of Baldwin.
August 2007
First Bank of Baldwin expanded its service area to include two additional branches in Spring Valley and Plum City.
December 2015
Nilssen’s Foods location was closed due to modern technology and a decreasing need for another bank in the community.
July 2018
First Bank of Baldwin opened a branch in Balsam Lake, WI.
April 2019
First Bank of Baldwin opened its first Loan Production Office in Chippewa Falls, WI.
October 2021
First Bank of Baldwin opened a branch in Clear Lake, WI.
February 2023
First Bank of Baldwin changed its name to Pillar Bank to recognize its rich history and be inclusive of the variety of communities and individuals they serve.
March 2023
Pillar Bank opened its retail bank in Chippewa Falls, WI.
November 2024
Pillar Bank opened its seventh location in Amery, WI.
